North of the Grand Canyon, originally uploaded by Dan Lilly.

Driving down the road forever
Telephone lines buzzing
Prayers of the wicked
Chasing the fleeing sunlight
Worrying about the clouds
Does my faith push the gas?
Are those your cries I hear?
Through my open window
Is that your pain I feel?
Through my open window
Or is it mine?
Or is it mine?

Racing down the road forever
Where's the traffic?
Am I the only one who got it right?
Am I the only one who's terribly wrong?
Am I speeding,
Or just always in my hurry?
Am I impatient,
Or just anxious to see,
How it all comes out?
If there's an ending to it at all.

Comments:
I like the rhythm of this poem Dan, especially the ending...feel that way often too.
