El Tiradito
This is the only shrine in the United States dedicated to a sinner buried in unconsegrated ground. El Tiradito (The Castaway). The many legends of it's origin all involve a tragic triangle love affair in the early 1870's. Located in the historical district of Tucson known as El Barrio, many come here to ask for favors and miracles from what is a very powerful shrine.
I come here just about everytime I'm in Tucson. Partly because it's next to the best Mexican restaurant on the planet. Partly to wonder if that wasn't me way back then in one of my other lives.
