Happy Birthday Dad

Today would have been my father's 79th birthday. So in keeping with a tradition I started after he passed away I am off to play golf.

Don't forget to tell your father how you feel about him. Hopefully you have a good relationship because no matter what age you are when it happens, losing him really sucks.

Have a good day everybody.

Comments:
I gave my dad a big hug this morning. :)

Enjoy your golfing I know your dad will be watching you lose golf balls. ;)

Yeah my dad's birthday is on Friday...I'll get him a mushy card.

Hmm, me and my father don't get along that well. But that is too long of a story for a comment. I am glad you found something nice to do to remember your dad! Have fun!

I wish my dad wasn't messed up. He has a deep-seated urge to show that he is superior to me, in a way which really messes things up.

For instance, when I got my first job, you deplauded the fact that "young people are paid too much today" -- despite the job I got being difficult and hard earned. When I have had periods of difficulty, he has always kicked me when I was down. It's like he's always looking for my weak spot in order to triumph in my relative powerlessness. I can't respect a man like that -- and yet I sense that all he is really trying to gain from me is some small respect.
